Could a D in one class affect my chances with good colleges?
Q. I just discovered I received a D in one of my spanish classes, although I plan on re-taking one semester of it next year for my senior year. Do my chances with good colleges go down-hill? How many times Do i have to ask you guys this in order for you guys to answer?

A. Well, the answer is pretty obvious - yes, it will affect your chances. It's going to bring your GPA down. And the colleges won't get your senior year grades until very late in the screening process, so they may have already eliminated your app by the time they could see an "A" in that course. However, what's done is done, so there's no sense in worrying about it. Make sure you keep your other grades up. As long as you have a decent GPA and good SATs you'll get in somewhere.

Do believe there is a G-d but science has not figured out the means to prove it?
Q. The debate over who is G-d or if there is a G-d is an age old argument. Instead of proving or disproving if there is a G-d there is an alternative hypothesis. Do you believe G-d exists but science has not discovered the means to understand or to prove it? Or do you feel this alternative hypothesis is based of erroneous philosophy? NOTE: This is not insult to either side but approach the question of G-d from a philosophical perspective rather than just faith based. Thank you for your time and answers.

A. it depend on how you define god if you define it the way most religion do, as an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent force that personally intervenes in the universe...no i don't believe that god exists but if you define god as most world renowned scientists do, such as sagan and hawking, that god is an energy that is in everything...yes i think that might be a worthwhile pursuit

What kind of hors d'oeuvres would you serve at an appreciation party?
Q. We are having a nice appreciation party for our clients & I need ideas on what to tell the cater to serve. They have an overwhelming menu of over 100 items to choose from. What I was wondering is there any particular type of hor d'oeuvres you look for at a casual party? This will be a come and go thing. Thanks so much.

A. Nothing messy. One-bite items that will fit on small paper plates (not too heavy); nothing that requires silverware. Just make sure you have veggie/dip and fruit platters; and an assortment of things for vegetarians too; also items without dairy (many people are lactose intolerant). The presentation of the buffet table will be just as important as what's served, too - do it in levels (for interest) and make sure all platters are garnished beautifully and kept refilled. Have you considered little mesh bags with Jordan almonds (in your company's colors), with an attached "thank you" note, for each guest to take home? Or, you can buy personalized cookies that say "thank you" or whatever, and give each guest a cookie to take home ...
