What happens if you fail a vision screening at school?
Q. I want to know, what happens if you fail a vision test at school. You will probably get a slip. Do your 'rents have to sign it or something? Any experiences?
Asked by 3 Months 2 Live - Wed Jan 23 18:44:11 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. if that happened to you - don't be afraid. i'll tell you this - if you think you don't want to wear glasses so you don't want anybody to find out that - that's bad! it would only bring you to a later stage when your vision can not be corrected anymore - instead of having it corrected at an earlier stage. don't let some years without glasses ruin your vision later - and like somebody said before, you might not need glasses anyway. don't be afraid of having an eye exam done - the more complete, the better. trust me ! i wore glasses for many years when i was little, i didn't have to wear them anymore after a surgical intervention - and i was happy to pass the vision screening each time i had to have it - even if i saw it wasn't done too… [cont.]

What makes a runningback's vision, 'unique'? If you follow your assigned blocks and see the damn hole?
Q. Wouldn't any decent running back run through it What does it take to have 'runningback vision'? Is it just to have instinct to turn your head looking at the whole field while you run?
Asked by Ghostrunner - Fri Nov 6 17:14:02 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. A runningback's vision has more to do with him being able to recognize not just where the defeners are, but what they'll be doing. If a team is running a zone blocking scheme, the runningback's job is to "read and react". He has to be able to anticipate the defense's play before the ball is even snapped. Once the ball is snapped, he has barely an entire second to recognize what the front 7 is doing, as well as any defensive backs that might be in run support. Once's he's "read," he'll do his best to "react" and make a good decision. It sounds easy when you're reading about it on the internet, but everything in the NFL happens so ridiculously fast. Also, when you're playing a defense like the Ravens, Patriots or the Jets (when healthy),… [cont.]

Can a child with elavated eye pressure and some deminished vision continue to participate in gymnastics?
Q. She is 13, just diagnosed in the last 6 months, and now in the last 3 months her field vision test shows deminished vision, we have been referred to a gluacoma specialist. She has been doing gymnastics for the last 4 years and has hopes to get a college scholarship.
Asked by Sue C - Tue Mar 18 22:52:56 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I would defer final recommendations to the glaucoma specialist, but I would expect and prepare to hear that it's not a good idea. Activities with rapid acceleration and deceleration tend to increase inner eye pressure anyway, and gymnastices would definitely be one of those kinds of activities that involved both. She's also at a higher risk of detaching or tearing the retina- and gymnastice would raise the risk again. She may be developing diabetic retinopathy, and that would definitely put the kabosh on the gymnastics. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't look good for her to continue. But talk it over with the specialist when you see him/her. Just prepare your daughter for some possible bad news.

This theme article is a stub. You can help Wikiquote by expanding it.

Vision or visual perception, is the ability to interpret visible light information reaching the eyes which is then made available for planning and action. The resulting perception is also known as eyesight, or simply sight. The various components involved in vision are known as the visual system.

Many quotes refer to the concept of vision as a shared view of a future concept, especially in the context of strategic planning. It defines the desired or intended future state of an organization or enterprise in terms of its fundamental objective and/or strategic direction. Vision is a long term view, sometimes describing a view of how the organization would like the world in which it operates to be. For example a charity working with the poor might have a vision statement which read "A world without poverty"

  • "Vision without implementation is hallucination" - Benjamin Franklin
  • "Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare." -Japanese Proverb
  • "Without a vision, the people perish." - Proverbs 29:18
  • "Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others." - Jonathan Swift
